Jakarta, Aug. 4 -- Cultural Affairs Minister Fadli Zon has urged the youth, particularly those taking part in the ministry's priority program, Learning with the Maestro (BBM), to contribute to the preservation and development of keroncong music.

" Keroncong music is an inseparable part of Indonesia's musical identity. It was born from cultural blending, but its nature is fully Indonesian. Keroncong's journey in our musical history goes far back, even to the 16th century," he said in a statement received here on Monday.

He informed that the BBM, which was launched in July 2025, is a key initiative for the management of national cultural talent.
