Belem, Nov. 22 -- Despite ongoing negotiations to reach a climate agreement, the Indonesian government stated that the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) concluded on Friday (Nov. 21) local time.

"To ensure the closing date is achieved today, November 21, the Brazilian Presidency has implemented what they call a diplomatic strategy, said an official of the Environment Ministry (KLH), Ary Sudjianto, on the sidelines of COP30 in Belem, Brazil, Friday.

He noted that the Brazilian Presidency pursued a strategy of conducting bilateral meetings with countries that had not reached consensus, engaging parties still able to resolve pending decision texts to advance the negotiations.
