Jakarta, May 2 -- The Ministry of Environment has officially begun drafting the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for Indonesia to address the impacts of climate change.

The ministry's Deputy for Climate Change Mitigation, Ary Sudijanto, stated here on Friday that the NAP is one of the documents that must be immediately submitted by countries that ratified the Paris Agreement to the UNFCCC.

He made this statement during the launch event of the NAP preparation in Jakarta.

He underlined that adaptation is crucial, given Indonesia's vulnerability as an archipelagic country to climate change impacts.
