Jakarta, Feb. 4 -- House Speaker Puan Maharani stated that the World Leaders Summit on Children's Rights, initiated by Pope Francis in the Vatican, has the potential to catalyze real action to speak up on children's rights.
In a statement released from her office on Tuesday, Maharani outlined various world challenges confronting children, including school dropouts, extreme poverty, and the impact of war.
She emphasized the need for all stakeholders to devise new strategies to assist and safeguard children.
Maharani noted that this summit aligns with the House's efforts to fight for children's rights.
"Children around the world continue to face serious threats to their rights, including exploitation and abuse," she pointed out.
