Indonesia, Feb. 23 -- The district head of Central Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara Province, Lalu Pathul Bahri, urged police to swiftly arrest a suspect in a bag-snatching targeting a Chinese national, warning the incident could tarnish the region's tourism image.
Bahri said he regretted the robbery, which occurred on Saturday night, Feb. 21, and called on law enforcement to promptly identify and detain the perpetrator.
"Hopefully the suspect will be arrested soon. This is the duty of law enforcement," he said in Praya on Monday.
He said the incident could undermine efforts to accelerate local economic growth through tourism, a key sector for Central Lombok.
