Jakarta, Dec. 25 -- Jakarta Archbishop Ignatius Cardinal Suharyo said the 2025 Christmas celebration offers an important opportunity to restore and strengthen family life amid increasingly complex social challenges.

Speaking at a press conference at Jakarta Cathedral on Thursday, he said this year's Christmas message, jointly issued with the Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI) and the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI), carries the theme "God Is Present to Save the Family."

He said the concept of "save" in the Christmas context goes beyond spiritual meaning and reflects a process of recovery from weakness toward a stronger life.
