Jakarta, Dec. 1 -- The State Logistics Agency (Bulog) will double rice stock in disaster-affected areas in Sumatra, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, in anticipation of prolonged emergency response.

Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said this measure followed internal assessment indicated that disaster impact could widen and response times may take longer.

"We are doubling our rice stock in these disaster areas," Rizal said during a central and regional coordination meeting for Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 preparation, monitored online in Jakarta on Monday.

Bulog also ensured that rice aid would be distributed optimally to regional governments in need, without exception.
