Jakarta, Jan. 19 -- The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is currently preparing a future technology forecast to anticipate threats and increase the competitiveness of domestic research.

"We are preparing a future technology forecast that projects which technologies will be relevant going forward," BRIN Head Arif Satria said in Jakarta on Monday.

According to Satria, the projection will serve as a reference for shaping the country's future industrialization strategy.

He cautioned that industrialization should not be designed based solely on current technological conditions, as many technologies may become obsolete within five to ten years.
