Jakarta, June 8 -- Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo emphasized that Indonesia's involvement in the BRICS Sports Group enhances the nation's sports diplomacy efforts on the global stage.

"This is not only a technical collaboration but also reaffirmation that sports is part of Indonesia's diplomacy strategy that is strengthened for international solidarity," he said in a written statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

Minister Ariotedjo recently represented Indonesia at a ministerial meeting where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed to formalize cooperation within the BRICS Sports Group.
