Jakarta, Oct. 23 -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva hailed Indonesia as a strategic partner for his country in advancing solidarity among developing nations of the Global South and strengthening their collective position on the global stage.

"Indonesia stands as a crucial, strategic partner for Brazil in our efforts to solidify the position of Global South countries," Lula remarked during a one-on-one meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

Bearing that in mind, he emphasized Brazil's commitment to deepening its bilateral ties with Indonesia, particularly to open new avenues for stronger cooperation in trade and education.
