Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has revoked the distribution permits for 34 cosmetic products found to be hazardous, causing allergies and also cancer.
"BPOM has taken firm action against these cosmetics found to contain hazardous and/or prohibited ingredients. BPOM has revoked the distribution permits and temporarily suspended their activities, which included halting production, distribution, and importation," BPOM Head Taruna Ikrar stated in Jakarta on Friday.
The findings resulted from BPOM's intensified routine monitoring of cosmetics circulating in the market from April to June 2025. Most of the findings, totaling 28 items, are still manufactured through contract production. Two products found were loc...
