Jakarta, Sept. 23 -- The Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing domestic and international cooperation in building a halal ecosystem and positioning Indonesia as a global halal reference.

"Indonesia is cooperating with various foreign halal institutions to expand halal service networks," Deputy for Halal Registration and Certification at BPJPH, Mamat Salamet Burhanudin, said in a statement here on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the establishment of an ASEAN halal standard should serve as a starting point for building a strong and authoritative global halal ecosystem.
