Jakarta, July 18 -- The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) is preparing to draft halal certification guidelines for cosmetic products to help the cosmetics industry comply with mandatory halal certification requirements, which will come into effect next year.

The first discussion on the guidelines was held on Thursday.

In a statement issued in Jakarta on Friday, deputy for partnership and halal standardization at the BPJPH, Abd Syakur, said that the mandatory halal certification requirements for cosmetic products will take effect on October 17, 2026.
