Jakarta, Dec. 24 -- Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has set a target to complete the construction of temporary housing units for disaster-affected residents in Agam District, West Sumatra, before children return to school on January 5.
Executive Chairperson of the BNPB Steering Committee, Ari Lesmana, explained that accelerating the development of temporary residences is essential to ensure that schools currently serving as evacuee shelters can resume their educational function in the second half of the 2025/2026 academic year.
