Jakarta, Jan. 16 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has accelerated the construction of temporary housing for residents affected by floods in North Aceh District, Aceh Province, with the aim of completing the units and making them ready for occupancy before the Ramadan month of 2026.

Acting Head of BNPB's Operations Control Center Hery Setiono said on Friday that the first phase includes the construction of 711 temporary housing units across five sub-districts, based on validated data compiled by the North Aceh administration.

"The acceleration focuses on meeting the needs of residents whose homes were severely damaged, destroyed, or swept away by the disaster," Setiono said.
