Jakarta, June 23 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has announced the establishment of a command post in Ambon city, Maluku, for mitigating landslides and anticipating potential disasters caused by high-intensity rain.

Head of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center of the BNPB, Abdul Muhari, informed in Jakarta on Monday that the command post is providing information to the community and coordinating mitigation measures for hydrometeorological disasters.

"The command post is also readied to monitor and respond to other potential disasters due to extreme weather," he said.
