Jakarta, Oct. 31 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) is encouraging the strengthening of a disaster-aware culture as part of a strategy to build national resilience in the face of various disasters in the country.

BNPB Head Suharyanto underlined that the nation's resilience in facing disasters is determined not only by technical and infrastructure readiness but also by a resilient community, social solidarity, and strong leadership at every level.

"Resilience in facing disasters is not only about technical readiness but also about mental, solidarity, and solid leadership at every layer of society," he said at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) education program event here on Friday.
