Jakarta, Nov. 4 -- Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi emphasized the vital role of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in supporting safety within the transportation sector through accurate weather data, early warning systems, and cross-institutional collaboration.

"BMKG plays an essential role in maintaining public safety, security, and welfare, especially in the transportation sector," the minister said.

He made the statement after nominating Teuku Faisal Fathani as Head of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) at the Office of the Ministry of Transportation in Jakarta on Monday.
