Jakarta, June 17 -- The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) continues to strengthen the national tsunami early warning system to address various potential seismic and non-seismic disaster triggers, such as tectonic earthquakes, undersea landslides, and volcanic activity.
BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati stated here on Tuesday that the development of operational facilities for disaster detection in Bali marks the latest technological innovation in Indonesia's national tsunami early warning system.
The Indonesia Tsunami Early Warning System (InaTEWS) facility in Kuta, Bali, was built with funding support from the World Bank through the Indonesia Disaster Resilience Initiatives Project (IDRIP).
