Jakarta, July 16 -- The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is collaborating with relevant institutions to ensure Indonesia's copper products exported to the United States originate from domestic downstream processing and value-added activities.

This was stated by Director of Mineral and Coal Downstreaming at the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, Rizwan Aryadi Ramdhan, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Ramdhan made the statement in response to US President Donald Trump's acknowledgment of Indonesia's high-quality copper as he announced a reduction in reciprocal tariffs from 32 percent to 19 percent.

"Together, we are formulating policies that support downstreaming. Thus, we do not export raw materials," Rizwan remarked.
