Indonesia, June 27 -- The Law Ministry has announced that Sigi District's iconic dish, biromaru grilled chicken, is now officially recognized as communal intellectual property.

Head of the Central Sulawesi Office of the Law Ministry Rakhmat Renaldy stated in Palu on Friday that this designation is a crucial measure by the state to preserve the local heritage. He highlighted that the local delight belongs to the community, not just to individuals.

"Now, biromaru grilled chicken is not just the families' top choice for parties but also a legally (recognized) identity of Sigi District in terms of national intellectual property," Renaldy stated.
