Indonesia, Sept. 5 -- Bank Indonesia (BI) continues to promote the Cross-Border Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), which is now available for transactions in four countries, to residents of North Sulawesi.

"The four countries are Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Japan," said Head of BI North Sulawesi Representative Office Joko Supratikto in Manado on Friday.

He explained that residents of North Sulawesi traveling to these countries no longer need to worry about transactions since QRIS can be used.

In Japan, QRIS Cross Border is connected to the JPQR system for payments in yen. In Thailand, it can be used by scanning the PromptPay code at participating merchants.
