Jakarta, Aug. 29 -- Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Ministry of Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection (P2MI) signed a cooperation agreement here on Friday to enhance consumer protection for Indonesian migrant workers in the field of payment systems.
BI Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta, in a statement here on Friday, stated that remittance, or the transfer of money by migrant workers to their families, not only supports their welfare but also strengthens Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves and supports Indonesia's balance of payments stability.
To this end, BI collaborated with the Ministry of P2MI to create the JariPMI.Info website, which provides essential information for Indonesian migrant workers.
