Indonesia, Nov. 13 -- The Bekasi District Legislative Council (DPRD) has called on the local government to maximize the use of corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSR) funds as an alternative financing source for regional development amid limited fiscal capacity.
Bekasi DPRD Chairman Ade Sukron Hanas said stronger cooperation between the government and private sector through CSR programs is crucial to meet rising infrastructure needs.
"CSR can be a solution to overcome our budget limitations. The government must build strong partnerships with companies so their CSR contributions can be utilized effectively for development programs," he said in Cikarang, West Java, on Wednesday.
