Jakarta, March 25 -- The National Alms Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia announced its plans to distribute 168,750 sacks of rice, each weighing five kilograms, to beneficiaries of Zakat al-Fitr, the Islamic obligatory alms, nationwide during Eid al-Fitr.
Baznas intends to provide one sack of rice per eligible family, aiming to support approximately 675 thousand beneficiaries on an assumption of four members per household.
As cited in Baznas' statement on Tuesday, Saidah Sakwan, head of the agency's Distribution and Utilization Division, emphasized that her team is committed to ensuring that all the funds and assets collected from almsgivers are delivered to deserving beneficiaries in good condition.
