Jakarta, July 30 -- Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, has said that the value of Indonesia's batik exports totaled US$7.63 million in the first quarter of this year, marking significant growth for the industry.

"Our batik industry has been on a positive trend. Data from BPS (Statistics Indonesia) shows that in the first quarter of 2025, the total export value was recorded at US$7.63 million, or 76.2 percent higher than the corresponding period last year," he highlighted.

Speaking at the Gelar Batik Nusantara 2025 event in Jakarta on Wednesday, the minister said that the trend aligns with the growing popularity of batik clothing as both formal and casual wear among Indonesian youth.
