Batam, Aug. 7 -- The Batam City Manpower Office ( Disnaker ) in Riau Islands province is targeting to help 18 thousand jobseekers find work this year.

Acting head of the Batam Manpower Office, Nurul Iswahyuni, said that as of July 2025, a total of 18,990 jobseekers, both from Batam and other regions, have registered with the office.

"This year, our target is to have 18 thousand job seekers placed. This aligns with the projected labor demand of 20 thousand job openings," she informed in Batam on Thursday.

In 2024, around 24 thousand jobseekers were recorded, and 17 thousand of them found employment, based on reports submitted by companies, she added.
