Jakarta, July 17 -- Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati informed that Rp20.26 trillion (US$1.2 billion) in basic food aid has been provided to 18.2 million beneficiaries, or 97.22 percent of the targeted 18.8 million, as of July 9, 2025.

"The basic food aid is now being distributed in cash. Each beneficiary family receives Rp200 thousand (US$11.91) per month," she wrote in a post on her Instagram account @smindrawati on Thursday.

The basic food aid program aims to help beneficiaries meet nutritional needs through the purchase of foods such as rice, meat, fruit, and vegetables, she explained.
