Jakarta, May 17 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is optimistic that baristas skilled in crafting coffee beverages will prosper if coffee becomes Indonesia's flagship commodity.

"If coffee becomes one of the main commodities in this country, including in Jakarta, I believe the lives of baristas will also improve," Anung stated during the "World of Coffee Jakarta 2025" event at Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) held on Saturday.

He also expressed hope that Indonesia will produce highly skilled baristas in the coffee industry if coffee becomes a leading product.
