Pasuruan, Aug. 29 -- Indonesia's Quarantine Agency (Barantin) is supporting companies in developing international-standard quarantine laboratories to improve production and distribution, Barantin Head Sahat M. Panggabean said.
Barantin will assist firms in establishing independent quarantine labs that meet regulatory requirements, he said at the launch of PT Syngenta Seed Indonesia's new lab in East Java on Thursday.
"Quarantine centers exist in all provinces, but with economic growth, qualified companies may set up their own labs," Panggabean said.
He emphasized that while external parties may conduct quarantine procedures, oversight and responsibility remain with Barantin.
