Jakarta, July 4 -- Bank Indonesia (BI) is working to integrate the national QR code-based payment system, Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), and electronic money services with the Nusuk card for Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

The initiative aims to ease transactions for Indonesian pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

"We are continuing discussions with the authorities in Saudi Arabia so that QRIS and Indonesian e-money can be incorporated into the Nusuk card," Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo said at a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Friday.
