Denpasar, Jan. 17 -- Bali welcomed its designation as the world's best tourism destination by travel services company TripAdvisor, with Governor Wayan Koster saying the recognition proved the island's resilience in overcoming negative rumors.

"Bali ranks number one among the world's top 10 tourism destinations, marking the highest position the island has ever achieved. Despite facing rumors related to waste management, traffic congestion, and occupancy, Bali remains unshakable," Koster stated here on Saturday.

According to TripAdvisor's "Travelers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best" award, Bali placed in the top spot, followed by London, Dubai, Hanoi, and Paris in the top five destinations.
