Denpasar, Bali, Sept. 16 -- Bali Deputy Governor I Nyoman Giri Prasta has submitted a request to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to carry out weather-modification operations in Bali.

The proposal follows continued high rainfall during the post-flood recovery process.

"We have submitted the request for weather-modification operations. I think this is important," Prasta said on Tuesday.

According to him, several areas-especially in Denpasar-have experienced light to moderate rainfall since Monday, while waste management after the September 10 flood remains unfinished. He believes precautionary measures are therefore necessary.
