Jakarta, July 3 -- The National Police (Polri) deployed its personnel to assist in evacuating victims after the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya ferry sank in the Bali Strait on Wednesday night (July 2).
"We continue to coordinate with the Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Navy, and other relevant agencies in the SAR operation," Head of Polri's Public Information Bureau Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko stated here on Thursday.
He revealed that East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nanang Avianto was present at the scene to oversee the evacuation and ensure that SAR efforts are being carried out as effectively as possible.
