Jakarta, Sept. 14 -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) called to desist from drawing comparisons between the COVID-19 handling mechanism in Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago, and those followed in other countries.

"I remind you that our country is an archipelagic nation. An understanding of the spread of COVID-19 is very important in dealing with the pandemic in our country. It cannot be compared to those of other countries that are not island nations," Jokowi explained while chairing a limited cabinet meeting on the COVID-19 handling and economic recovery efforts at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday.
