Jakarta, Jan. 22 -- Indonesian para swimming athlete Bayu Putra Yuda said his success in winning a gold medal and setting a new record at the 2025 ASEAN Para Games (APG) in Thailand was achieved after overcoming himself.
"If I get carried away by emotions, my energy can be drained and I could fall behind at the end. So I really had to fight myself," Yuda said, as quoted from a press release by the Ministry of Youth and Sports here on Thursday.
He secured the gold medal in the men's 200-meter freestyle S10 event with a time of 2 minutes and 18.22 seconds.
He broke the previous ASEAN Para Games record of 2 minutes and 25.07 seconds.
