Jakarta, Dec. 4 -- The Indonesian Military's Army (TNI AD) has installed Starlink satellite communication units to restore connectivity in flood-affected areas of West Sumatra.

Head of the TNI AD Information Office Colonel Donny Pramono confirmed to ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday that the devices were supplied by the Regional Military Command Communication and Electronics Unit (Komlekdam) of Kodam XX/TIB and the Defense Ministry.

"This effort is a crucial step in reopening information networks in areas that were previously isolated due to damage to telecommunications infrastructure," he said.
