Jakarta, July 25 -- A member of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Amelia Anggraini, has urged the government to take anticipatory steps, such as strengthening early warning systems, in response to rising tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.
According to Anggraini, regional stability is vital for national development and security. She said that bilateral conflicts between neighboring countries must not be allowed to develop into open conflicts that can spread to other countries.
"Here Indonesia's leadership will be tested, not only as a mediator, but also as a regional peacekeeper," she added in Jakarta on Friday.
