Jakarta, June 24 -- Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Puan Maharani has urged the government to take immediate steps to mitigate any impact from the rising tensions between Iran and Israel on the domestic economy.

"The government must mitigate the development of the global situation related to the rupiah exchange rate, fuel subsidies, and other matters related to the global situation," she said in a press statement issued on Tuesday.

To anticipate the impact of the Iran and Israel war on the nation, DPR RI and the government will discuss the 2026 State Budget Draft (RAPBN) without delay, Maharani informed.
