Jakarta, Sept. 4 -- The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named former Education Minister Nadiem Makarim as a suspect in an alleged corruption case involving the procurement of Chromebooks between 2019 and 2022.

"Based on our investigation and evidence, we have named one suspect with the initials NAM (Nadiem Makarim)," AGO's Director of Investigations at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Nurcahyo Jungkung Madyo said here on Thursday.

Madyo explained that in 2020, during Makarim's term, the minister planned to use the Google product for procurement, even though the official procurement period had not yet begun.
