Jakarta, Jan. 29 -- Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti ensured that the rehabilitation of schools damaged by floods and landslides in Aceh will be completed in 2026.
He emphasized that post-disaster school rehabilitation reflects the state's commitment to guaranteeing children's right to quality education.
"The learning process must not stop. Schools with severe damage will be demolished and rebuilt on the same site using revitalization funds," Mu'ti said in a statement on Thursday.
He confirmed that the government has allocated Rp2.4 trillion (approximately US$142.9 million) for the recovery of disaster-affected educational units across Sumatra.
