Jakarta, Oct. 21 -- Indonesia has seen major improvements in healthcare access and public awareness during the first year of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's leadership, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

Three flagship programs-Free Health Checkups (CKG), tuberculosis (TBC) elimination, and regional hospital development-have driven progress, said Aji Muhawarman, head of the ministry's Public Communications Bureau.

As of Oct. 20, more than 46.9 million people had registered for free checkups under the CKG program, with 43.9 million already screened.

The screenings, held at 10,000 primary care centers and 125,000 schools, include checks for blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, and nutritional status....
