Jakarta, March 24 -- As many as 81 percent of tuberculosis (TB) cases in Indonesia were successfully identified in 2024, with 90 percent of the total estimated 1.092 million patients receiving treatment.

According to the ministry's director of infectious diseases, Ina Agustina Isturini, the figure showed an increase compared to 2023, when 77 percent of cases were identified and 88 percent of the total estimated 1.060 million patients received treatment.

"Although there has been an improvement, TB remains a challenge as our identification has not met the expected target," she said on Monday.
