Jakarta, March 17 -- Indonesians account for 30 percent of factory workers employed by footwear and sports apparel manufacturers Nike and Adidas globally, indicating that the global market recognizes the competitiveness of domestic manufacturing.
"Indonesia now contributes almost 30 percent of the total global factory workforce of Adidas and Nike. This shows that our manufacturing competitiveness is recognized at the global level," spokesperson of the Industry Ministry, Febri Hendri Antoni Arif, said on Monday.
According to Arif, this also offers wider employment opportunities for Indonesian workers.
