Jakarta, March 14 -- Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana has said that the number of domestic tourists traveling during the Eid al-Fitr holiday this year is projected to reach around 140 million.
Nationally, 70 percent of tourists are predicted to vacation in Java island, while the other 30 percent will visit other regions, like Bali, she explained here on Friday.
"Usually, the (tourist) destinations visited are those in destination areas of homecoming exodus travelers," she said.
According to Wardhana, there are several destinations that tourists vacationing with families target. In Jakarta, for example, some of these destinations are Ragunan Zoo, Ancol, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Kota Tua, and Seribu Islands.
