Jakarta, June 4 -- The Ministry of Environment initiated action against 116 industries in the Greater Jakarta area for contributing to air pollution during the 2023-2025 period.

As many as 63 business entities were prosecuted in 2023, 44 business entities in 2024, and 9 business entities in 2025, the ministry's deputy for environmental law enforcement, Rizal Irawan stated.

"We have made law enforcement efforts against several activities that may contribute to air pollution," he said here on Wednesday.

Irawan informed that operations have been halted and environmental legal processes initiated at all 9 industries.
