India, July 5 -- The economic survey 2016-17 prepared under former Chief Economic Adviser, Arvind Subramanian had done an in-depth analysis of the risks and possible solutions on the agricultural sector. A recap of the main findings can be a good input for the preparation of budget 2019. It pointed out clearly that the agricultural sector is characterised by instability in incomes owing to various types of risks related to production, weather, markets, and prices. The uncertainty in the growth of agriculture is mainly attributed to a deficiency in rainfall since 55 per cent of agriculture in India is rainfall dependent.
