India, Aug. 28 -- In Independence Day speech Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Family planning is true patriotism". Meanwhile, Shiv Sena supported PM Modi's push for population control. The party alleged in its article that "fundamentalist Muslims are not concerned about population explosion and are not ready to come out of the mindset of "hum do humare pacchis (we two, our 25 children)."
PM Modi, while addressing the nation on the 73rd Independence Day, stressed on the "need to have greater discussion and awareness on population explosion."
