India, Feb. 24 -- Much water has flown down the Jhelum since the Narendra Modi government changed Jammu and Kashmir - split it into two clueless Union Territories - and divested it of its special status. A day before the big-ticket changes were voted in the Parliament, scores of J&K leaders including three former chief ministers were placed under detention. Six months later, leaders like Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti continue in detention - and of late their incarceration is done under the provisions of the Public Safety Act of the J&K that was framed to break the powerful cartels of timber mafias, hoarders and anti-nationals.
