Gangtok, May 12 -- On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, Chief Minister of Sikkim extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state and to Buddhist communities celebrating the sacred festival across the globe.
In his message, the Chief Minister highlighted the spiritual and cultural significance of Buddha Purnima-also known as Vesak or Buddha Jayanti-which commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and Nirvana of Lord Gautama Buddha. He noted that Lord Buddha's life, from his early days as Prince Siddhartha Gautama to his transformation into a symbol of peace and wisdom, continues to inspire humanity through his teachings of non-violence, compassion, and universal brotherhood.
